1 Thessalonians 5: “16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
As many families do this time of year, mine has written a list of things that we are thankful. We sing “Thank You God” after we get our groceries and we say thank you at our meal time prayers. We do have so much to be thankful. This morning in my Bible reading I came across the previously listed verse. It really got me thinking. It seems that we are thankful only in the good. Do we always rejoice? Are we constantly in conversation with the Lord? Do we give thanks in all circumstances? We certainly want to do God’s will. We know that life has a lot more peace when we do. I don’t know if I can do that list, nonetheless lead my children in doing the same, on my own that is. We are not alone though. God’s Holy Spirit is always here to help. This gives me a goal, a desire to work on from here on out. I am not sure of the end result other than the knowledge that when I walk closely with the Lord I have more peace and joy in my life. I am confident that being thankful in all things will change my perspective for the better. Here’s to “giving thanks in all things.”
We have wonderful students, teachers and support staff! We are thankful for the opportunity to learn and grow together in Christ.
We are thankful for our military. November 10th we had a special Veterans’ Day service and learning from daddies who serve our country. Not only are we thankful for the service men and women but also their families!
