Learning is Fun in Earlychildhood

This week Mrs. Boss’ class made ice cream for the letter “I.” The students helped read the recipe and put in ingredients.

Mrs. Pierce’s class got ready for their Thanksgiving Feast next week. Students made headdress, Native American vests, teepees, and cut fruit to dry.

Mrs. Newlin’s and Mrs. Boss’ classes got to see the Kindergarten students’ Thanksgiving Program. We listened to songs and watched the students act out the first Thanksgiving. Our gracious hosts also gave us peanut butter cookies! Our students were so excited and talked about when they get to be in the play next year.

Kansas Reads to Preschoolers

Wednesday, November 19 we participated in Kansas Reads to Preschoolers. Ms. Wilson from the library came and read Jan Thomas’ book, “Is Everyone Ready For Fun?” The cute book had three┬ámischievous cows come and visit Chicken. They want to jump, dance and wiggle on Chicken’s little sofa. Poor Chicken is beside himself with these activities.

Ms. Wilson had the children up and jumping, dancing and wiggling with the cows. The children giggled and loved it! Finally the cows decide they just need to take a nap. This is the first action that Chicken is fine with the cows doing on the sofa; infact Chicken is so worn out that he takes a nap with them.

Blessing of Operation Christmas Child Boxes

Tuesday, November 18, Pastor Myers came down to the land of preschool. We sang “Jesus Loves Me” and “Jesus Loves the Little Children.” Pastor showed the children a map of the world, talked about how Jesus loves everyone and how some children don’t have nice things like us. He talked about how God wants us to share His love with others. Pastor Myers had an empty box and had the children and teachers say, “Jesus lovesyou” into the box. He asked, “Will they hear that when they open the box? How can they know Jesus loves them with this box?” He showed them the boxes that they had filled and talked about how wonderful it will be for those children. We finished by praying together and asking God to bless these boxes and the children who will receive them.
